Little Yellow Bicycle February Sketch Challenge

I haven't sketched in a while, but I have to say that this one feels really good and has a lot of opportunity to customize or just follow along.  Totally up to the beholder... Head over to the Little Yellow Bicycle Blog for details on the challenge.
 Just Because Layout

This page came together pretty quickly.  I have to admit that I was tempted to use one large 5x7 photo of my kids and call it good, but I love all of the pages I've been seeing with wallet-sized photos.  So, I compromised and used the same photo (in a wallet-size) three times to make the same impact with a litte more flair.  This picture of my kids really warms my heart, so I probably could have used it six times or more, but I tried some self-restraint - LOL
Have you checked out Little Yellow Bicycle's new Naturals collection???  It is a must have and I am not just saying that because I work for Little Yellow Bicycle.  I would buy these gorgeous embellishments regardless.  Look how this burlap heart totally fits in with the bright Just Because color scheme, but adds a little natural texture.  I just LOVE it!!!  And check out the other hearts you get in the package with this one... could have used any of them on this page.

Can you even stand another minute without these Naturals blue canvas letters that remind me of denim?  They were such a fun element to add to my page.  Not to mention that they come in other colors...

Little Yellow Bicycle CHA Release Part 1

Little Yellow Bicycle has done it again with some fabulous new children's collections.  Today I am sharing a couple of projects with the Fern & Forest Girl collection.  Sprinkled with a little fairy dust, it is perfect for all of the little girls in us...

My daughter is so much fun to photograph.  We were playing with her glamorous sunglasses and boa and caught this picture.  I paired it with a large shooting star because it seems like she might be headed in this direction - LOL.

I used a banner (green) in the Paper Crafting Kit and traced the design onto various patterned papers to create the tail for the star.  Then I tucked foam tape underneath to make it pop up a bit.
Love how you can use the journal cards without having to actually write on them.  They make wonderful design elements just as they are.
A little cluster of stars and banners finish off the design.
I used my scoring tool to create this accordion lampshade.  It was a lot of folding, but the effect is really fun.  The little chipboard fairy and flowers make a great design that would brighten up many little girls' rooms.
I used one of my old Fiskars punches to add the scallops to the bottom layer of the lampshade.  I bought the very inexpensive lamp and shade at Walmart.
I have more projects with brand new collections to share from both Little Yellow Bicycle and Simple Stories.

Have a great day!
