Scrapbooking and Beyond Summer 2008

This is the second sketch in a series of four I have created for a project with Scrapbooking and Beyond Magazine called Sketch Anatomy. Check out the current Summer issue for directions on how to make a sketch yourself. Also - this is the layout I created from the sketch. I love the K&CO Roam papers with the chipboard.
For all you educators out there, can you say Venn Diagram? Makes a good sketch though.

Saturday Shopping

Got to go to the big city today to visit with relatives and made time to make a quick (not really) stop at Archivers. WOW!!! What a selection they have in the store and everything is displayed so neatly and visible. It was hard to control the budget, but I walked away with some new rubons from Remarks, some new Thicker alphas and some wintery paper to finish a layout I need to turn in to Scrapbooking and Beyond. Hard to think winter in summer, but I have some good ideas and beautiful paper. I also found some super cool flower centers from Creative Imaginations. I'll post a layout when I finish one.

Check back in a few days for a sneak peek of the Design Team work for My Creative Scrapbook.

Blackboard is the New Black

I absolutely love the new Cosmo Cricket Blackboard mini albums. This is the Jack album which measures about 4.5 inches high and 5.5 inches wide. It's so cute and little, you could probably use it as a key chain. The black chipboard makes a wonderful contrast to the Dutch Girl line of papers I used to design my mini album, and I really appreciate the fact that I did not have to trim or color edges, making the project pretty fast going.

Can You Say Sugar Baby?

These are the first two layouts of my son. He was born June 6th and is three days old in the photos. I used the gorgeous Cosmo Cricket Hey Sugar line of printed papers and die cuts. Even though they are meant for Valentine's Day - the papers are soft, beautiful and very versatile (as you can see). I received the Hey Sugar papers in a kit from My Creative Scrapbook. Check out their site for upcoming kits, including a mini kit from Cosmo Cricket in July with the Hello Sunshine line.

I also included the sketch I designed to go with my two page layout. I just reversed the sketch. I'd love to see what you do with the sketch...maybe with some of your favorite Cosmo Cricket lines.
