Sketch Fest

This is a sketch I designed for a big contest at Creative Scrappers. It is all weekend long and there are plenty of prizes and challenge opportunties. I was having fun with circles (got to use that expensive circle cutter I bought sometime).

Starting to Smile

Today I was playing with Henry and he flashed me this goofy grin. I ran to get the camera and hoped to get it on film. This is the beginning of a little charmer.

Water, Water, Everywhere

I recently took my dd to the spray park near our house. What a simple pleasure...she can easily spend thirty minutes to an hour playing in the water . I definitely need to get a better camera, but here is one of my favorite photos from the day that I hope to be scrapping soon.

Busy with Kids

Who knew that a second baby would turn our world upside down again? But, ohhhh what a sweet baby he is and we are having such a great time. My daughter is just tickled to have a little brother.
I've been working on sketches for publications and design teams and have not had much time to sketch for fun, but I promise to post something soon. I have some new and fun photos of the kids, so don't be surprised if something shows up soon.

Scrapbooking and Beyond Summer 2008

This is the second sketch in a series of four I have created for a project with Scrapbooking and Beyond Magazine called Sketch Anatomy. Check out the current Summer issue for directions on how to make a sketch yourself. Also - this is the layout I created from the sketch. I love the K&CO Roam papers with the chipboard.
For all you educators out there, can you say Venn Diagram? Makes a good sketch though.

Saturday Shopping

Got to go to the big city today to visit with relatives and made time to make a quick (not really) stop at Archivers. WOW!!! What a selection they have in the store and everything is displayed so neatly and visible. It was hard to control the budget, but I walked away with some new rubons from Remarks, some new Thicker alphas and some wintery paper to finish a layout I need to turn in to Scrapbooking and Beyond. Hard to think winter in summer, but I have some good ideas and beautiful paper. I also found some super cool flower centers from Creative Imaginations. I'll post a layout when I finish one.

Check back in a few days for a sneak peek of the Design Team work for My Creative Scrapbook.

Blackboard is the New Black

I absolutely love the new Cosmo Cricket Blackboard mini albums. This is the Jack album which measures about 4.5 inches high and 5.5 inches wide. It's so cute and little, you could probably use it as a key chain. The black chipboard makes a wonderful contrast to the Dutch Girl line of papers I used to design my mini album, and I really appreciate the fact that I did not have to trim or color edges, making the project pretty fast going.

Can You Say Sugar Baby?

These are the first two layouts of my son. He was born June 6th and is three days old in the photos. I used the gorgeous Cosmo Cricket Hey Sugar line of printed papers and die cuts. Even though they are meant for Valentine's Day - the papers are soft, beautiful and very versatile (as you can see). I received the Hey Sugar papers in a kit from My Creative Scrapbook. Check out their site for upcoming kits, including a mini kit from Cosmo Cricket in July with the Hello Sunshine line.

I also included the sketch I designed to go with my two page layout. I just reversed the sketch. I'd love to see what you do with the sketch...maybe with some of your favorite Cosmo Cricket lines.

Mother's Day Sketch

Just wanted to share a new sketch especially for Mother's Day. It's a simple design that you could finish quickly if the family is giving you some scrap time on your special day. Trying to use up the multitude of butterflies out there too. Happy Mother's Day to many of you.

Pattern Sketch

I designed this sketch in a "quilt" pattern meant to utilize the masses of patterned paper scraps we all have lying around. I also added a few fluttering friends to help absorb the abundance of butterfly products out there.

Valentine Sketch

I think the simple lines and embellishments on this sketch really bring focus to the photo and journaling.

One of my favorites...

This is one of my favorite sketches because I love circles, flowers and flourishes.

February Sketch

This is a sketch I designed for my friends at http://scrapbook.com/ to play with this month using the holiday theme. This is not the same sketch I designed for http://creativescrapbooksupply.com/ (sorry no peeks unless you purchase the kit from them).

Spring Sketch

This is a sketch I desinged based on the number of butterflies I have seen in the different scrapbook product lines and to celebrate spring.

I am currently working on some sketches to be included in the box kits from http://creativescrapbooksupply.com. Kits are a compilation of materials, ranging in style and product line, that are chosen by the design team for the site. There is generally a theme to go with the kit - this month being a Valentine's theme. The sketches I am designing are exclusive to the materials included in the kits. There will be layout ideas included on the website for February at http://creativescrapbooksupply.typepad.com. Come check it out. The website will be getting a facelift in the next few months. After CHA 2008, I'll be working on a March sketch for the next kit.
