MCS April Reveal and Closing a Chapter in Designing

It has been such a wonderful experience to design for My Creative Scrapbook. Being part of such an amazing design team has helped me grow tremendously and I am very grateful for the experience. But, after some soul searching I have decided it was time to move on. Some of you might ask, why in the world would you leave such an awesome gig??? My answer...sometimes you just need to change up what you are doing and look for new directions. This industry changes so quickly and part of the excitement is discovering new opportunities.

I'll still be around and maybe even in some new places, but you can certainly always find out what I am up to here, especially if you need a little extra inspiration.

MCS March Reveal

My Creative Scrapbook has done it again with a delightful main kit this month featuring loads of Prima's Strawberry Kisses. It doesn't get much better than this when you have Prima Marketing on your side. The paper, crystals and flowers are the perfect essentials. Please stop by the site to see what the other Design Team members created with this amazing kit.

I had so much fun with this layout. To me the papers just scream, "cut me up," so I took an old KI Memories sheer die cut and traced the shape on this Prima paper. For the butterfly trail, I added bits of bling to give it a unique look. The photo of my daughter is slightly muted to match the softness of the papers and flowers.

I used my Cricut a lot for this layout. Again, I think the papers just scream, "cut me up," so I used some of the other patterned papers to make the green flourishes and the white letter 'M' using my Calligraphy cartridge that I found at Walmart.

Babes in Toyland

These are my two amazing kids snuggled together. My son gets such a kick out of how big his sister's bed is. This is also a project I created for the My Creative Scrapbook December Main Kit. The snowflakes on the My Little Yellow Bicycle paper are so beautiful and I did not want to cover them up, so I created a lot of negative/white space by keeping my design tight and centered. However, despite the smaller space, I still added a lot of embellishment to the layout. The Journaling says, "Sugar plums danced in their heads." I am also hosting a sketch challenge at MCS this month based on this layout. Please come by and check it out.

Sticky Ornaments

This ornament is my altered idea for the My Creative Scrapbook main kit this month. The My Little Yellow Bicycle 25 Days of Christmas collections includes these beautiful clear stickers with poinsettias on them. So I bought a medium sized silver glass ball from Target and applied the clear stickers. Then I used one of the 25 Days of Christmas chipboard tags to decorate with a large, sheer wired ribbon.
