Sunday Sketch & Guest Designers

You all know how much I love circles and this sketch was so much fun to put together. So excited to share the work of the guest designers this week. So let's not waste anymore time chatting and get to it...

Julia Short is a lover of nature and it is consistently reflected in her work. I was so happy when she volunteered to guest design. Julia is 66years old and lives in West Wales with her hubby Andy and their little Jack Russell dog Basil. She has a son and a daughter and four wonderful grandchildren. Julia has been crafting for as long as she can remember and has tackled most things along the way. Some of them include dressmaking, knitting, cross stitch and jewelry making. She started Scrapbooking back in 2005 after many years of card making and vowed never to get into scrapping, because it wasn’t for her. So much for that! Most of her spare time is taken up by scrapbooking, but only when she isn't out walking with her wonderful little dog.

Here is what Julia had to say about working with thesketch, "I was thrilled when I saw the sketch as it was perfect for showcasing some of my Husbands wonderful bird photographs. I knew I had some Webster's Pages that would be perfect for it too. So I hand cut some of the birds and butterfliesand along with some gorgeous Prima Marketing blooms, the page soon came to life." Below are some close ups of Julia's work. Check out the gorgeous butterflies.

Please visit Julia's blog On Top of the Scrap Heap for more information about her and details about her work.

Ellen Magnette joins us this week all the way from Belgium and her work is really wonderful. Here is what she had to say about working with my sketch, "What I love with Liz’ sketches, is that they often challenge me into using several pictures on the same layout, which is something I’m not used to, even though in the end I’m mostly happy with what I did ! I have sooo many beautiful photos from my sister’s wedding last summer that I immediately decided to go for these when I firt saw the sketch. Also, I knew I would make a corset at the bottom of the page, to add more romance into my layout. I then chose the papers, the chipboards and alphabet for the title, the embellishments, mixed the whole thing and got this layout !"

Please visit Ellen's blog L'univers de Calahiel for more information about her and details about her work.

Lisa Jamerson is a fresh face and I love the beautiful simplicity of her layout with the sketch this week. Here is what she had to say about working with it, "This sketch was a delight. I love that it had a few photos on it and had quite a bit of white space. I used Shabby Green Doors (Life Preservers March 2010 kit) patterned paper and cut some parts of it to use as facets of the page such as the journaling spot and the piece behind the title. I love taking patterned papers and using them in different ways. This sketch was a perfect opportunity to do this. The butterflies are Life Preservers stamps which I wet embossed to make them stand out then I used foam squares behind them to pop them off of the page. The scalloped edge below the photographs is actually ribbon that is adhered below the piece of patterned paper."

Please visit Lisa's blog Cut, Create and Care for more information about her and details about her work.

Challenge Winner - Tricia Hill you were randomly picked by the Interactive Fruit Machine as the winner of this month's challenge. Your layout below is just darling. Please email me your information and I will get a little RAK out to you. Also click here to see more of Tricia's work.
