Head of the Class Just for You!

HOCAlteredApple_LizQualman
As many of you know I am a teacher and would have to say that back to school collections have a special place in my heart.  I made the altered apple frame as a salute to all of the teachers who help our children reach their potential.  I bought the raw frame from my friends at Adornit!  They have the most interesting things to alter and this apple is actually about 8" in size.

Great work. My favorite teacher would be my grade 5 teacher. I spent most of the year in & out of the hospital in Edmonton. He lived in Edmonton and would come every evening to see me and make sure I stayed caught up with school so that I would pass. We also made paper airplanes and threw them down the hall at the nurses.

I'm going to go with a teacher of all things scrappy! My favorite teacher is Christina from Creations with Christina. Her voice is so clear that you never miss a word. She makes the best videos and I can always use the information that she shares whether it is a card that she made, a box, an altered item, or a stamping project. She's the best!

My favorite teacher was from nursing school, her name is Gemma, she would always assign the MOST complicated patients to me because she had so much confidence in me as a nursing student. She helped shape who I am today. Many years later, I came back to the hospital I had trained at and I met up with her and told her how much she had influced me back then. She is also the SMARTEST nurse/teacher I have ever met !!! Thank you for the chance to win this super cute collectio Liz !!! Your projects always awesome !!!

Maths would have to be my most hated subject...purely because I just didnt understand it and it made my head so so so tired! Hence I failed Math 3 times, although I was an A in every other subject. I will be forever grateful to Mrs Thompson the new math teacher who used her lunch break to come and tutor me in the library. She was purely motivated by wanting to see me pass after been distressed that I kept failing. Thank you to her and her ongoing help I do okay. Just dont ask me what 1+1 is...... um 4? LOL :-) Thank you for an awesome oppurtunity to win a prize this awesome!!! I could scrap my little boys school days. :-)

What a fabulous giveaway! I have a few favourite teachers, but I probably have to say Mrs O'Neill in the 7th grade probably helped me through the hardest time of my pre-adult life. Teachers who genuinely care make all the difference!

Love the altered apple frame! Darling! My favorite teacher was my Spanish teacher. He made learning so fun! He would take us on many field trips and have us use Spanish out in the real world and that helped me so much!

My favourite teacher was my Grade Nine English teacher. He was a gruff sort, but he encouraged me to write and believed in me!

I love this frame! My favorite teacher right now is my son's Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. M. She and all the other K teachers really love teaching these kids, and I see her enthusiasm overflow to my son (who was nervous to start full day, every day school). Thank you to all teachers who encourage our young to learn!

One of the first days of 11th grade, teacher known to be a real nightmare, reading in character, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God." (Early American Lit.) He tripped over my foot, gave me a blank look, "shook" off the character, apologized, and immediately continued again, in character with the next line of the sermon, all but shouting in my face, "and God HATES you!!!" He turned out to be my favorite teacher. :) Thanks for the chance.

My favorite teacher was my High School math teacher. I hate Math and I have always struggled with it. He took the time to meet with me before and after school to go over assignments and tests. He was always patient and encouraging. I would not have passed my Math courses without his help.

Just adorable!!!

My favorite teacher was Mr. Gore, who I had for Chemistry my junior year. He was this amazing guy who actually made learning fun and talked to us all like we were his friends instead of students. I liked him so much that I was even went back to be his teacher's aide my senior year!

Thanks for the chance to win some goodies!!

My favorite teacher was actually my seventh grade teacher (we didn't change classes then) and then moved up to the high school and taught me English, Geography, Speech, Drama, Civics... pretty much is responsible for so much of my education. What I loved about her is her warmth, her ability to connect outside of the classroom, her fabulously fun teaching style... learning was not boring in her class. I still keep in contact with Mrs. Neely and am thankful for her influence in my life both academically and more importantly personally. She is an amazing example of what a teacher should be. I became a teacher myself and worked to bring the same type of values and warmth into my own classroom before staying home with my kids.

My favorite teacher was my college professor. She gave me music lessons from middle school up until I graduated from college where she taught. She encouraged me and opened doors for me for my professional life. Not only was she there for me academically, she was there for me to share my problems. One day, I called to tell her I wouldn't be coming to my lesson because I had a really bad day. She said I should come to my lesson anyway, that we would just talk. I don't even remember what was wrong or how bad my problem was. But, I will always remember how she cared to just listen and let me vent. That is a great teacher! Now I am a teacher and I aspire to be THAT kind of teacher!

My first grade teacher, Mrs. Wilkins was the best. Always so patient and sweet! As my son was going into first grade last year we found out Mrs. Wilkins was going to be his teacher as well. I was so excited! My son goes to a different school than I did when I was young. What are the chances we would have the same teacher? She is still so sweet. Now she is his favorite too!

I love your apple frame! Beautiful! My favourite teacher was Steven Clarkson, from The University of Toronto. He is a very accomplished person, but so very down to earth and friendly. He's a fabulous teacher and really excited about what he teaches. It comes across in the classroom, you can't help but hang off of his every word. Of all the teachers at university, he was the one who made me feel the most at ease and made me forget how competitive university is!

Gorgeous collection and love your frame.
My favourite teacher was my son 's grade 4 teacher. She turned a boy that hated school into an honour student. Her discipline and dedication won over my heart and my son. Many thanks.

My favorite teacher was my Junior Am Lit teacher, Mrs. Quinn. She made literature come to life -- literally! She actually had a stage in her room where she would bring the characters to life. She dressed in all black for The Minister's Black Veil and one day she was Hester Prynn with her scarlet "A". It was amazing, especially for someone like me who had been acting on stage since I was a kid. I am in the classroom now and I can only hope to influence students like she influenced me.

My favorite teacher is the kindergarten teacher my grandson has this year. She has a lot of patience and a really sweet spirit. She also has 15 boys out of a class of 20.

My favorite teacher of ALL time is Mr.Peckham. He taught media at Sac High and he is the nicest, kindest, sweetest, helpful and supportive teacher I have ever had. No matter who you were or what you did he always had something nice and encouraging to say. I have never ever heard him raise his voice to anyone---that's saying something with a bunch of hormone filled, authority challenging teenagers and juvenile delinquents. I wish he was still teaching because we need teachers like him more than ever. I will always remember how proud and supportive he was of me. Luckily for me I count him among one of my friends today. How many teachers would you have wanted to be friends with? Thank you to Mr. Peckham!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to have to choose my DS first prep teacher. With an only child it was hard to send him off to school, but she has been amazing in helping him and us grow. Its absolutely amazing watching the journey your kids go through when first reading and writing, the projects made and the excitement when they learn something new. We have been blessed with a fantastic teacher and friend.

My favourite teacher was only around for a while, but he was so patient with me, that he was the only one who could ever teach me mathematics. Bravo!

My favorite teacher at the moment is my daughter's Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Rodriguez. She is so sweet and helpful. She always has a smile on her face and she just loves my daughter. Lauren has moved on to 1st grade now and we are still getting to know the new teacher. She is much more strict...

Love your altered apple and I was so surprised to see your LO over at Archiver's !Fabulous work as usual.

My favorite teacher was my French teacher in Grade 10-12. She was tough, demanded a lot, was never a softy, but when she found out that I would not be able to go to France during summer because of financial reasons, she invited me to spend the 3 weeks her and a friend in the South of France. All I had to do was pay a part of the food bill. A few years later, I was already married, we did the same thing. This time sharing the drive and the cost. She is truly the reason why I became a French/Music/Drama teacher and I owe her a lot! We are still in touch now a billion years later.

My favorite teacherwas and still is MR CHILDERS!! He inspired me to stay with my faith no matter what by his example in my 9th grade biology class. The state deemed every teacher to teach on the subject of evolution so he told us to get our books out open them and as he said on to the next subject! After class my friend and I asked him why he did that and he said it's the law Iteach on the subject but they don't say for how long!! Always stay strong in your faith no matter what the circumstances. He taught me a life long lesson!!

There have been lots of inspiring teachers over the years but one has been memorable: my history teacher in sixth grade who put all her heart into a history club where we would make history come alive through debates and visits to all the museums within driving distance. I love the apple frame - it's a lovely project and I think one she would have liked (her family had a farm that included an apple orchard...)
