Live Healthy Fridays

Do any of you do yoga? I really love it and have been needing to participate, but I tore my ACL for a second time last year and a second surgery has left my knee in pretty bad shape. I think I tried to get back to Yoga too soon and experienced a lot of pain in my knee...but the truth is I really miss it. I am also back to school this week and getting ready for a grueling month of planning and training for all of the teachers in my school district. I am an instructional coach and responsible for much of the professional development for teachers. This is such a stressful month for me and a bit of Yoga would probably do me some good. Sigh...

So, if you don't see me around too much this month - you know I am working at my "real" job which tends to encroach on my hobby. LOL!

I feel your pain! I was doing yoga and kickboxing weekly, but then partially tore my MCL and meniscus. They let the MCL heal, but didn't catch the meniscus tear until almost a year later with surgery. Long story short, surgery didn't work, had another surgery a year after the first and am finally on the road to recovery! I have starting to get back into yoga and kickboxing, but I know I don't have the same knee and if I have to modify, I modify.

My body is too 'old injured' for yoga now. I still stretch though. Good luck with your tough month!

So sorry about your acl. I have sciatica...just another pain that comes from getting younger..hehe! Hope you get to do some yoga and dont work to hard...like thats possible huh!

Ohhh I love yoga and I really miss it when my job or something gets in the way of my class. There's nothing quite like it for stretching the body and calming the mind.
