Ready for another November Sketch??? Sometimes clean and simple lines and embellishments can inspire the most wonderful creations. That is exactly what the guest designers did with the sketch this week. I'll post the November Challenge sometime this week.
Lisa Hidy is the featured designer this week and she has some wonderful work to share with all of you, but first a little bit about Lisa, "I live with my 13 year old son in the Great State of Texas. I started scrapbooking in 1997, right before my son was born. I started out with the small goal of making a baby book for my son and well, 13 years later it has become so much more then that. My style is really clean and simple, I like the focus of my pages to be on my pictures. I really enjoy preserving the memories my son and I have made through our many adventures together, it is fun to look back and see where we have been along this journey called life and I look forward to scrapbooking the rest of our exciting journey together!"
This is what Lisa thought about working with the sketch, "Liz's sketches are always so fun and unique. When I saw this sketch I loved the clean and simple lines to it. I loved how it drew the eye towards the photos. So, I decided to accent the main larger photo by using some old burlap fabric from my stash. I used My Mind's Eye So Sophie papers for their back to nature feel and "You and Me" journaling box which fit right into my theme of the quiet times I cherish spending with my son."

Melinda Spinks is back for her final week with this project and she really rocked it! Here is what she had to say about working with the sketch, "When I first opened the sketch from Liz I immediately thought, "this is different from her usual style", however it's simplicity drew me in from the start. Liz has an amazing ability to really focus on what is important in a layout and she translates that concept into creative and achievable sketches. I really stuck with the concept and only deviated from the main design by leaving off the second photo. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Liz for having me aboard as a guest creator to showcase her beaautifgul designs." Awwww - she is way too sweet. I'm thinking we will see her again.
Please visit Melinda's blog The Scrap Farm for more information about her and details about her work.
Myriam Mantion joins us again for another week on the blog with her lovely creation. This is what she had to say about her work with the sketch this week, "I like this sketch because of the way the two pictures are displayed. To make it a little less square, I used this rounded die-cut. I also liked the stars in this sketch, so I kept one and replaced the other one with birds ... These are pictures of my daughter Agathe on the beach last summer ...isn't she lovely?" Yes! She is totally lovely and the layout is fantastic!
Please visit Myriam's blog Myriammg Scrap for more information about her and details about her work.Me - I made this layout a while ago, but couldn't resist bringing it back for the sketch this week. I love bright little boy collections and bold embellishments. Can you stand the little feet on my son??? They make me want to tickle the photo...LOL!
Thank you so much for stopping by -
