Have you checked out the NEW iRock at Imaginisce??? This is definitely my new favorite tool. It is a heating device that adhere's gems and crystals to just about anything. Have you ever shopped at Miss Paper Jane?  If you are a big fan of Cosmo Cricket, it is the one-stop-shop where you can find all of their older releases - especially your favorites.  Sometimes the collections are substantially discounted and if you order in "bulk" you can receive free shipping on your orders.  The customer service is really good and the items ship right away.  I've ordered many of my favorite Cosmo Cricket items from them and highly recommend taking a peek.  Lately I have been playing with the Lil' Man collection and loving it.  One of my friends was asking where to find the Ready Set Chipboard - click right here for it.

Imaginisce Sketch Challenge

It's that time again! Another awesome sketch challenge at Imaginisce with a super fun sketch from fellow designer Kim Holmes. This is my little guy walking around the park to the beat of his own drum. I love the Live Loud collection, because Henry is so musical in real life and he loves to dance and pretend to sing, so this layout is really a perfect way to describe him. Aren't these little chipboard guitars the cutest things ever??? Imaginisce makes really awesome coordinating parts with all of their collections and the Live Loud collection is no exception. American Crafts has these super fun little fabric letters called Delight. They were the perfect size to create the title for my layout. I cut the little records from one of the journal card stickers.

Scrapbooking & Beyond Summer Kit Kraze

It's Kit Kraze time again at Scrapbooking and Beyond Magazine and this issue's AWESOME kit was designed by the lovely Susan Dupre with the help of her friend Nikki Sivils. Jane, the editor, keeps it all hush, hush and just surprises the designers. Obviously this put a big smile on my face, made my day and most of my Scrappy Life. This is a good time to shop online at Sears for little kids clothing and shoes. My daughter is going to be a flower girl at a wedding next month and we found this super cute pair of Sandals for $14.99 at Sears. She was instantly in love with the bling flower and the clear heel. Remember when they used to say - Come See the Softer Side of Sears? Now they say - Life. Well Spent. I definitely like the price...

How many of you really like to shop??? I sure do and am always happy when I find a new online store that has good deals, good service and fast delivery. That's what I experienced recently when I ordered some product from A Cherry On Top. My order was quickly packed and shipped and the prices were very reasonable. It sure makes living in the mountains (2 hours from any civilized scrapbook stores) a lot easier knowing I can depend on online stores like A Cherry On Top.What did I buy you might ask....a whole lot of Nikki Sivils, which I was having a hard time finding anywhere else. This is the layout I made for National Scrapbook Day using her Will He B the 1 collection. My daughter took this photo of me on a recent trip to Moab, Utah. This is what I look like after camping for a few days, with no shower and no make up... Life is grand.I made the title using my Cricut Blackletter cartridge and used the shadow feature to cut slightly larger letters as the background to make the printed letters stand out more. I also pop dotted the letters to get them off the page a bit, so they would create a nice little groove to slide the Doodlebug Loopy Lou letters in. Don't the green My Little Shoebox min alphas make the perfect contrast to the Will He B the 1 papers? So much fun to play with this collectionI completely adore the little craft flags and used this one to convey that instead of life, liberty and property, my Pursuit of Scrappiness includes Paper, Embellishment and Adhesive. Hee, hee. I love to play with titles.

Pebbles and American Crafts go together like Peas & Carrots. We are hosting a product swap at both the American Crafts and Pebbles blogs. If you leave a comment any or each day this week, you will be entered into a drawing for a goody bag full of these two manufacturer combined products. Check out below to see what I did with the Pebbles May Bouquet and American Crafts Abode collections.

I like things that coordinate and it is so much fun when you can combine totally different product lines and come up with something that just works. These photos were taken at my son's 1st birthday party and he was very interested in eating his cake, thus the journaling, "You can have your cake and eat it too." I thought it was a fun idea to mix the Pebbles May Bouquet collection with the American Crafts Abode collection. The color palettes compliment each other perfectly. There is a large strip of the Abode striped paper at the bottom of the page, but to change it up a bit at the top of the page I cut the polka dotted May Bouquet paper into 1.5 inch squares and then varied the heights. I also added pop dots to three of them to make them stand out and added buttons for more interest. I created a large bold title with the Dear Lizzy Thickers and then added a May Bouquet journal tag decorated with a little My House chipboard piece and a May Bouquet sticker flower. Overall the layout has a bright birthday feel, but is grounded in some nice earthy tones.

I had so much fun making this little Congratualtions card for a new homeowner. I just love the little My House chipboard pieces from American Crafts and combined with the congratulations 3x3 journal card from the Pebbles May Bouquet collection it made the perfect card for a new homeowner. To give the card a "window" appearance, I cut a circle in the top paper and then pop dotted it from the rest of the card. I used my Cricut to cut the little blades of grass and then added the neighborhood houses for a newly moved in feel.

Sometimes when one door closes, another one opens...

I am so excited to announce that I will be joining the Design Team at the Paper Poppy Kit Co. I was so flattered when Aphra Bolyer, who I so admire as a designer, asked me to join she and Frances Sylvia to become a party of three. The kits are yummy and I am going to enjoy this new adventure. Yesterday I hinted I would be in some new places, so please come visit the blog to learn more about Paper Poppy. You are going to love it there.

I recently bought a notch and die tool from Basic Grey and wanted to experiment with it a bit. Used it to create the half circles notched in my card. Then, made the letter M with my Plantin Schoolbook cartridge on my Cricut as well as the blue flourish from my Calligraphy cartridge. The packaging from the Prima Marketing stamp that I used to pattern the letter M was the perfect matte for my it. I just inked it a bit to give it a little more definition. Feels good to use the packaging instead of throwing it away.

These projects were created with thePaper Poppy April kit featuring Pink Paislee Bayberry and Basic Grey Green at Heart. Who knew those lines were like peas and carrots together? Well... Aphra did and these projects were fun to create and I love how the kit has some really unique elements, like the authentic music sheets (mine even had pencil marks where someone had edited the music - how cool is that), that pull it together so perfectly.

Someone asked me the other day what are two things you can't live without and my answer was, "Fleece and Keens." As many of you know I live in the Rocky Mountains, so my clothing is pretty practical. It's cold here and fleece is warm and comfortable. It snows here a lot, so warm, practical and somewhat stylish shoes are essential. My favorites are always red. I was at the mall the other day... Sounds pretty mundane except that for me to get to a mall I have to drive at least 2 hours, so I only get to a mall about twice a year. While I was walking around, I noticed a music store loaded with CDs and EVERYTHING was on SALE. I had to chuckle, because I now buy all of my music online (the legal way) and it seemed really strange to see a music store still in business - barely. It took me back to vinyl and tapes for a few minutes and the time I bought my first Duran Duran album. Those were the days...


However, despite my nostalgia for days gone by, I'm a big fan of product on demand, so I like to download my music instantly from sources like iTunes. It is easy to search for songs and I love the feature that allows you to listen to a few seconds of the music so you can make sure it is the right song. I also like the a'la'cart feature for buying a single song instead of the whole album. Saves me money and relieves me of songs I don't really care for. Music has never been more accessible and I find myself listening to more and more variety.
