More Paper Poppy

It has been such a pleasure to design with the May kit from The Paper Poppy Kit Co. and I am just floored by the creativity of my fellow designers Julie, Aphra and Frances. This is such a wonderful niche in the Scrapbook world to be a part of and I am sure that you will all agree that the kits are really AMAZING. As many of you know from my sketches, I really enjoy creating round layouts, because they frame a one photo layout so well. This is a photo of my daughter taken last fall. I recycled the Prima flower packaging again this month since it was a perfect match to the green in the Jillibean Soup papers and the packaging already had a fancy border cut into it. Why recreate the wheel....
I seriously loved the kit this month and I think I have become a doodad kind of girl, because Aphra has put so many fun elements in the kit that the creative possibilities just flow. I adore the pearl capped pins and the different sized buttons this month.I LOVE working with RED and especially these two patterned papers from Jillibean Soup. When I was trying to figure out how to pair them together, it occurred to me that one would make a good title, so I used my Cricut Blackletter cartridge and the shadow feature to make the letters for GIRL.
I used the adhesive pearls that Aphra included in the kit for the butterfly body and then I grabbed a little bit of craft wire I had in my stash to make the antennae. The Prima flowers were a beautiful choice to go with all the papers and they have really fun shapes and sizes.

I had fun mixing the GCD butterflies with the Jillibean Soup papers. The color schemes worked really well together. I used one of my circle punches to reduce the size of the Jillibean Soup journal cards and then back the Love and Laugh carstock stickers to make them stand out a bit more. I also mixed the cardstock stickers with the button to create the sentiment.

All the colors and bits and bobs of this kit really come to life on your pages, Liz! I am saving that round layout for a future scraplife (credited of course) because it is just FABULOUS! You rocked it this month!
